The pair is under $10 if you order them on Amazon, making them a great price and perfect for practicing reading and writing skills over the summer in the most fun way. Wacky Word Wedgies and Flushable Fill-Ins is a Mad-Libs type book that requires kids to use what they know about parts of speech to create hilarious stories.
I totally agree with your blog. One of the main strategies for getting boys to read is to allow them to read books that they love. Therefore, if they love Captain Underpants, why not let them read about him.
My nephew loves these books and is off to a great start in reading already. He would just love to add these to his collection. He loves them because there are great story lines that he can relate too.
I think they love these books because they make them laugh and they can relate to the family! I am glad they read these books since I love anything that makes them want to turn off their devices and read!
Challenges to books and other materials are on the increase in school and public libraries (see ALA's Frequently Challenged Books page for details). Check out the list of titles that NCTE has worked to protect! Banned Books Week, celebrated September 18-24, 2022, draws attention to the issue of censorship and how it can best be combated.

Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie is a 3D CGI superhero comedy film that was produced by DreamWorks Animation. It is based off the first four books in the Captain Underpants saga. The movie was released on June 2, 2017 in the United States.
In Piqua, Ohio, George Beard and Harold Hutchins are two fourth-grade friends and next-door neighbors who often bring joy to their school, Jerome Horwitz Elementary School, by excessively pranking the mean staff at the school, especially their cruel principal, Mr. Benjamin \"Benny\" Krupp, which puts them at odds with him. The duo also creates comic books about a superhero named Captain Underpants, a character who has superpowers yet merely wears underwear and a cape. They sell these to their schoolmates through a comic company called Treehouse Comix Inc., located in their treehouse. George and Harold's pranks come to an apparent end when they are caught tampering with a toilet invention, the Turbo Toilet 2000, made by the school's resident intellectual and snitch, Melvin Sneedly. This gives Mr. Krupp a chance to put the boys in separate classes, thinking that he can destroy their friendship with it.
DreamWorks Animation announced on October 19, 2011 that they had acquired the rights to make a film based on the series. DreamWorks had been attempting to secure the rights since the series was first published in 1997, but Pilkey was not interested. However, after seeing \"the subtle way that morality and personal responsibility were handled\" in How to Train Your Dragon and the Kung Fu Panda movies, he realized a film could \"properly convey what [he] was trying to do with the books\".
From the creator of Captain Underpants comes this New York Times bestselling series about bad guys who want to be good. Recently adapted into a movie, read a few of these books with your little ones, then watch the film for family movie night.
George and Harold are best friends who enjoy making their own comic books. Together they've created the greatest superhero in the history of their elementary school: Captain Underpants! His true identity is SO secret, even HE doesn't know who he is! Tra-la-laaaaa! It's can't-miss fun!
