April Snow 03:28 buy track about The Fiction Issue, a collaboration with the string quartet Brooklyn Rider, is Gabriel Kahane's first album of chamber music, comprising three pieces written between 2011 and 2015. The title work, featuring Shara Worden, was commissioned by Carnegie Hall, and premiered in 2012. It was revised in 2014.
Kahane's discography includes five albums of solo piano music (Fiction Issue, Bradbury Studies, To Be American, The Book of Travelers, and The Crane Palimpsest EP) and several collaborative works. His music has appeared on several well-known records, including many of the albums by Brooklyn Rider and Will Oldham. Kahane is the associate director of the Master of Arts program in Creative Practice at Montclair State University. He holds an MFA from Yale and a BA from the Boston Conservatory. He has lived in Brooklyn since 1997.
